When No One Was Watching

I am incredibly honored to receive the 2026 Innovation Award from the Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association.

I actually prepared a thank-you speech because I wanted to be ready if my name was called. Not because I expected an award, but because I have so much respect for the Awards Committee and for the thought, time, and consideration that goes into recognizing each recipient.

So even though I didn’t get to give my speech, I still want to share it.

Thank you — not only for this award, but for the acknowledgement. I have done a lot this past year, and in the years before it. And so much of it was done when no one was watching.

I did it when I was tired.
I did it when I was heartbroken.
I did it when I had a hundred other things I could have been doing.

And I still chose to show up, contribute, create, help, and keep going — even when I thought no one was watching.

That is why this means more to me than simply receiving an award.

It is an acknowledgement.

I have always believed that how you do one thing is how you do everything. Your character is built in the moments when there is no audience, no applause, and no guarantee that anyone will ever notice.

But today reminded me of something else:

Someone is always watching.

Someone sees the work. Someone remembers the effort. Someone notices the difference you are trying to make.

Thank you to the Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association and the Awards Committee for honoring me with the 2026 Innovation Award.

This one means a lot to me.
